A graveside funeral service, with military honors, for Frank Long, age 84 of Fort Worth, formerly of Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday in the Blanket Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10:00 until 12:00.

Frank passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in Fort Worth.

Frank was born May 8, 1933 in Sulphur Springs to Sidney and Gertrude Long. He was affectionately called “Doodle” by his family. He served in the Army in the Korean War where he learned to weld, which became his lifelong trade. Frank owned and ran several companies through the years. He built many rides at Six Flags Over Texas and many of the Atlanta Olympic venues at Stone Mountain Park in Georgia. He grew huge gardens and his specialty was tomatoes which he generously shared with all. Frank was a good dancer and a big tease. He also competed and won many awards in various types of cook-offs. Most everyone who knew him were on the receiving end of one of his jokes at one time or another.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Bonnie Long & 2nd wife Patty Long, three sisters Justine Bass, Betty Joe Corley & Carmon Petros, and one brother Dell Wayne Long.

Frank is survived by three daughters Debbie Bellows & husband Greg of Ft. Worth, Kaye Alland of Watauga, Tammie Kelley & husband Jeff of Pecan Plantation, one brother Dennis Long, two sisters Juanita Mills & Annie Jean Carlisle, 4 grandchildren Robert Bellows and wife Linsey, Cindi Muir and husband Adam, Michelle Alland, Malorie Alland and husband Nathan, and Stephanie Hererra, 8 grandchildren: Paige & Beckham Bellows, Belle & Orien Muir, Jacob & Bentley Alland, Gabby Brecino, Christopher & Madylyn Chaney and, many nieces & nephews & friends who he loved dearly. He will be missed by all those that loved him.
