Brownwood News – Wendlee Broadcasting is working on final preparations for the celebration of their 10th annual Easter egg hunt Saturday morning at Coggin Park. The lead sponsor of the event is Brookshire’s Grocery Store, who has been part of the event for nine years, providing all the candy for the event.

First Central Credit Union, a key sponsor of the event since its inception, will be there along with Bruner Toyota and Auto Group who provide all of the hot dogs to be given away that morning.

Drinks are provided by Dr. Pepper of Brownwood and Early Blooms & Things provides the bounce house for the kids. Other sponsors include Dazzling Divas, the Lehnis Railroad Museum, Bangs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Brownwood Decorating, Hillview Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation, Brownwood Regional Medical Center, Pure Auto Glass, Avenue Dental, and Cross Community Church.

The Heartland Cruisers will put on a classic car show during the event and the Brownwood Lawnmower Racing Club will also be in attendance. Kids can get close up looks at vehicles from the Brownwood Police Department, Brownwood Fire Department, Lifeguard Ambulance Service as well as military vehicles from Camp Bowie.

The event starts at 10 a.m., with the first hunt beginning at 11 a.m. Age groups for the hunts start with preschool and younger, then Kindergarten through first grade, and lastly the 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders will conclude the event with their hunt.

The hunt, hot dogs and drinks are free for attendees. The only thing asked of event-goers is to help keep Coggin Park clean by disposing of trash properly in the provided trash cans.
