James Abner Johnson

James Abner Johnson – February 15th, 1929 to March 16th, 2018

Services will be held at Davis Morris Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 20th, 2018 at 11am.  Visitation will be on Monday, March 19th, 2018 from 6pm to 8pm.

The family of James Johnson is saddened by the passing of our father but rejoice in knowing that he is now in heaven.

Our father left our presence on March 16th, 2018.  We are glad he will meet our amazing Lord and spend eternity with Him.  What a glorious thing!

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his beloved sister Beatrice Machovsky of McKinney Texas.  His children Patricia Davis of Lubbock and her husband Larry, Elaine Johnson of San Marcos and her wife Janie, Judy McGowan of Lubbock and her husband Edward.  His grandchildren James Evans, Cory McMahan, Casey Brewer and Samantha McBee.  His great grandchildren Haylee, McKenzie, Colton, Jaitlynn, Madison, Tucker, Carson, Jake, Mackie and Tavia.

He was preceded in death by his father Floyd Johnson, mothers Eva Marie Fincher and Willie Ruth Johnson;  his beloved wife Betty, daughter Linda Evans and granddaughter Amanda McBee;  his brothers Felton and David, sisters Mary Lois, Elizabeth and Rachel.

Dad serve our country in the United States Air Force an a Chaplin.  He retired from Scoggin-Dickey Buick after 25 years of service.  He was a member and Commander of the American Legion Post 470.  He also served several years as a board member for the Tamarack Mountain Association.  He mentored many while being a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

In Lieu of Flowers, donations to the following is suggested;  Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, American Legion Post #470, Kindred Hospice Care, Tamarack Mountain Association or Cancer Research of your choice.
