Brownwood News – Law enforcement arrests and reports released Monday, February 26, 2018. All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records. If charges are dismissed or the accused is found not guilty, people listed here can contact Brownwood News and provide us with documentation.

Friday, February 23rd

  • 9:59 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of W. Commerce in reference to a found property call. A report was generated.
  • 10:42 a.m.  Brownwood Police conducted a traffic stop on a white SUV for failing to indicate intent to turn within 100 feet. Subject was arrested for Driving While License Invalid with Previous Convictions and Without Financial Responsibility.
  • 1:26 p.m. the Brownwood Police Department responded to the 700 block of W. Commerce St in Brownwood, Texas, in reference to a hit and run.
  • 1:40 p.m. a Brownwood Police Officer responded to the 100 block of Bowie Cir. in reference to a damaged fence. After it had been hit by a vehicle . The fence was knocked over and a peach tree was hit and knocked over by the roots.

Saturday, February 24th

  • 12:47 a.m. A Brownwood Police Officer made contact with three occupants of a silver passenger car due to a strong marijuana smell emitted from inside the vehicle. The car was parked in the 3800 block of 4th Street. One occupant was arrested for Possession of Marijuana <20 OZ in a Drug Free Zone, Unlawful Carry Weapon/Weapons Free Zone, ProhibitedSubstance in Correctional Facility, and PG1 <1 G DFZ.
  • Around 3:30 a.m. Brownwood Police was dispatched to the 100 block of Bluffview in reference to Criminal Mischief, a report was made.
  • 6:11 a.m. A Brownwood Police Officer was dispatched to 1500 block of Dublin Street, in reference to a domestic disturbance call. The officer arrived on scene and spoke to all parties. An arrest was made.
  • 10:27 a.m. the Brownwood Police Department responded to the 1500 block of 3rd Street in Brownwood in reference to a theft of a firearm.

Sunday, February 25th

  • 2:31 a.m. A Brownwood Police Officer was dispatched to the 1600 block of Main Blvd in reference to an accident. One subject was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of Controlled Substance PG3<28G . Another subejct was arrested for Injury to A Child/Elderly/Disable W/INT Causing Bodily Injury, Possession of Marijuana<2OZ, and Public Intoxication.
  • 10:02 a.m. A Brownwood Police Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of W. Commerce in reference to a terroristic threat call.
  • 11:58 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Terrace Drive in reference to a burglary of a vehicle.
  • 12:49 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to the 400 block of W Commerce Street in reference to a violation of a protective order.
  • 2:35 p.m. Brownwood Police Department received a report via public service telephone of theft in the 1000 block of W. Commerce Street.
