Written by Amanda Coers – Brownwood City Election Candidate Filing officially ended today at 5 p.m. Incumbents H.D. Jones and Draco Miller filed for their respective open council seats. Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes will be challenged by Mike Tittle in the upcoming election.

Tittle filed to run against incumbent Stephen Haynes for Brownwood Mayor. He is retired from his position of Plant Manger of 3M in Brownwood, as well as a position with Good Samaritan Ministries.

Stephen Haynes has been the Mayor of Brownwood since 2010.

Patrick McLaughlin has also filed as a write-in candidate for the Ward 1 City Council seat. McLaughlin is active with the Brownwood Area Jaycees.

Early voting will be held April 23rd through May 1st at the Brown County Elections Office at 613 N. Fisk Avenue in Brownwood. Election Day will be Saturday, May 5th.
