Margaret Lorene Perry

Margaret Lorene Perry, 86, of Brownwood, Texas passed away February 9, 2018. The eldest of three children, Margaret was the daughter of Howard Thompson and Sara Ella Thompson of Brownwood, Texas and the devoted wife of 64 years to J. Fred Perry. She is survived by her sister, Mary Belle Fryar and husband Calvin of Brownwood, Texas, and her four sons and their wives, Milton and Dana of Brownwood, Texas, Mike and Debbie of Dallas, Texas, Martin and Mary of Denton, Texas and Mitchell and Jeralyn of Dallas, Texas, and one foster daughter and her husband, Ivy and Alan Magruder of Beaumont, Texas. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her youngest sister, Carolyn Engle, of Brownwood, and was also preceded in death by her husband, J. Fred Perry, who passed away in 2016.

Margaret Perry was raised in Brownwood, Texas. She graduated from Brownwood High School and, in 1952 married J. Fred Perry.  Following J. Fred’s military service, they lived in Brownwood. In 1962, they moved to Midland, Texas, and retuned to Brownwood in 1971.

Margaret was a member of the Austin Avenue Church of Christ, a loving wife, and a devoted mother to her children. She was a quiet soul, an observer of life, a world traveler, a collector of wisdom, and blessing to those around her.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 13, 2018, in the Austin Avenue Church of Christ.  Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
