Brownwood News – The Brownwood City Council will meet at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, in the Council Chambers at Brownwood City Hall, located at 501 Center Avenue in Brownwood.

Brownwood City Council Agenda – Regular Called Meeting

The City Council may deliberate and/or act on the following items:

5. Introductions, Announcements, and Recognitions

6. Citizen Presentations: Any citizen who desires to address the City Council on a matter not included on the agenda may do so at this time. The City Council may not deliberate on items presented under this agenda item. To comply with the provisions of the Open Meetings Act, the Council respectfully requests that prior to addressing Council that each person submit a citizen presentation form that is located at the entryway to the Council Chambers, stating your name, address, and topic of presentation. All presentations are subject to a five (5) minute time limit.

9. Public Hearing: Conduct a public hearing on the following proposed Ordinance and consider on first reading.

A. Conduct a public hearing and consider an Ordinance on first reading to close an 18 ft. wide alley located between Lots 4 and 5, Block 2, of the Beaver Addition, also known as 607 and 701 Crothers Street, beginning at Crothers Street and continuing 150′ northwest to an existing 10 ft. alley.

l0. Requests and Presentations

A. Consider authorizing the purchase of a salt/sand spreader for approximately $6,000 for the Street Department with funds to come from the sale of equipment.

11. Agreements and Contracts

A. Consider extending the current Coliseum concession contract until it is rebid and awarded.

12. Ordinances and Resolutions

A. Consider an Ordinance on first reading amending the political sign regulations regarding the size of political signs located on private property.

B. Consider a Resolution declaring Museum artifacts as surplus property and donating the artifacts to the Temple Railroad Museum.

C. Consider a Resolution authorizing the Police Department to apply for a Body-Worn Camera Program grant from the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division (CJD).

14. Executive Session: The City Council may convene into a closed executive session in the Haynes Conference Room, pursuant to the provisions of the Open Meetings Law, Chapter 551, Government Code Vernon’s Annotated, in accordance with the authority contained in the following section:

Section 551.071 – Consultation with Attorney

Section 551.072 – Deliberation Regarding Real Property

Section 551.087 – Deliberation Regarding Economic Development Negotiation

A. Discussion of sale of City Property located between the 600 Block of E. Baker Street and the 700 Block of E. Lee Street, bounded by S. Greenleaf Street on the north. and S. Washington Street on the south, for the Revitalization Project.

15. Action as a result of the Executive Session
