Funeral Services for Olidio Cantu, age 55, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Heartland Funeral Home with Pastor David Barnum Officiating.  Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.  Mr. Cantu passed away Saturday at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Olidio was born on October 9, 1962 in San Saba, Texas to Balerino and Rosa Henry Cantu.  He was a 1982 graduate of San Saba High School where he had excelled in sports, especially football.   He broke several football records there and was also voted class favorite.   At the age of eighteen he moved to Brownwood and worked at Superior cable.  Always having a passion for fitness, especially weight lifting Olidio purchased Flex-it Gym in 1995.  He also helped run Austin Avenue Auto Sales for many years and ended his career at Hawkhill Sales as a consultant.    On April 19, 2014 he married Delilah Horton in Brownwood.  After retirement Olidio enjoyed antiquing. But his favorite thing above all else was spending time with his family.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife Delilah of Brownwood; his daughter Laryn Cantu of Austin; stepchildren Shelcy Reeves, Candelario Mata and Gabriella Mata all of Brownwood; brothers Valerino Cantu, Ireno Cantu, Bobby Cantu, Steve Cantu  and Elton Cantu; three sisters Rosemary Welle, Susie Flores and Rita Aguirre.  Also by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry Cantu, sister LaLena Gomez and by twin infant sons.

Online condolences may be left for the family at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
