SMSgt (Ret) Ramiro Cesar Martinez, USAF

Ramiro Cesar Martinez, 77, of Early, TX, was called home by the Lord on January 11, 2018.  Ramiro served 22 years in the US Air Force, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant.  During this time in the Air Force, he relished being a supporting member of the Thunderbirds air demonstration team as a supply specialist.  After retiring from the Air Force, Ramiro worked for the Texas Department of Health.  Ramiro loved life and spending time with his family.  His guidance, wisdom and friendship will be missed dearly.

Ramiro was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He was preceded in death by his parents Ramiro & Laudelina Martinez and his loving wife Martha I. (Burton) Martinez.  He is survived by sister Sylvia Bird of Laredo, TX, brother Juan Martinez (Roberta) of Laredo, TX, Judith M. Resendez of Laredo, TX, Thelma M. Gomez of Laredo, TX as well as his children: Daniel Martinez (Kristin) of Colorado Springs, CO,  Carmen R. Yearego (Dino) of Scroggins, TX, Diana C. Vela (Silvestre) of San Antonio, TX, Tina M. Butler (Rick) of Brownwood, TX and David C. Martinez (Katherine) of San Antonio, TX.  He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation is at Davis-Morris Funeral Home, 800 Center Ave., Brownwood, TX 76801 and is scheduled for Monday, January 15th from 6 to 8 pm, with a Rosary service starting at 7 pm.  The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 16th at 10 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1105 Main St, Brownwood, TX 76801.  Burial services at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery are pending.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to MD Anderson or ZERO – The End of Prostate Cancer in memory of Ramiro C. Martinez.
