Odessa Nichols

Mrs. Odessa Nichols went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. She was born in Blanket, Texas on November 9, 1925. She graduated from Early High School, in Early, Tx. She was married to Reverend Carol Nichols for 72 years. Together they pastured the Early First Baptist Church, and moved to California where they pastured churches in Rodeo, Albany, Salinas, Norwalk, and Gardena, California. She was President of the PTA in Salinas, CA and President of the Women’s Missionary Union for the church and also for the California Baptist Association. She was also on the California Baptist Long Range Planning Commission and was the only woman on the committee. In Gardena she worked for two Dentists for 25 years. They also did mission outreach in France, Korea and Australia. They moved back to Brownwood, Tx in 1993. She started a Card Ministry at the Early First Baptist Church. They lived in Brownwood until January 2012 when they moved to Fort Worth.

Odessa Nichols was preceded in death by her husband, Carol. She is survived by daughter Patricia Wells, Daughter and son in law Pamela and Paul Jones, son and daughter in law Edwin and Pat Nichols and daughter Marcia Nichols; Fourteen grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and six nieces and one nephew.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday December 2, 2017 at Eastlawn Memorial Park with Bro. Eddie Ailshee officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday evening at Blaylock Funeral Home in Brownwood.  The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to a charity of ones choice.
