Samuel (Sam) Stearns

Funeral services for Samuel (Sam) Stearns age 47 of Blanket will be held at 10:00am Monday at the Freedom Fellowship Church in Early Tx. Interment will follow at the Trickham Cemetery and is under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home in Early. The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, November 25 at Heartland Funeral Home. Mr. Stearns passed away Friday at his home.

Sam was born April 4th 1970 at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City to Floyd Dale Stearns and Wanda Mae England. He graduated from Cross Plains High School and was employed by Walmart where he recently received a 5 year award. Sam also participated in the Special Olympics and earned numerous awards and certificates. He attended High Mesa Cowboy Church and Freedom Fellowship Church. Sam enjoyed working and loved hunting, fishing, trapping, welding, working cattle and anything to do with the outdoors.

He is survived by his parents and stepmom Chandra “Sandy” Stearns, a brother, Billy Stearns and wife April, aunt and uncle, Brenda and Sonny Spraggins, Cousins Steven Steward, Samantha Armstrong and fiancé Chris Edwards, Chance Thompson, Charles Thompson, William Spraggins and wife Elizabeth, Nieces, Cheyenne Stearns, Nikki and husband William Hancock and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, R.C. and Ann Stearns and a brother Robert Leroy Stearns.
