Cullen Calvin Bobo

Funeral Services for Cullen Calvin Bobo, age 90, of Brownwood, will be held Monday, November 20, 2017 at  2:00  p.m. at the  Heartland Funeral Home of Early with Tom Washburn and Ted Kell officiating, interment to follow at Antioch Cemetery in Brown County.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Sunday evening at Heartland Funeral Home.  He passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 in his home.  Cullen was born on May 15, 1927 in Brooksmith, Texas to George and Irene (McIver) Bobo.

He married Pearl Rushing on August 19, 1948 in Brownwood, Texas, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather and active member of Austin Avenue Church of Christ.

He attended Howard Payne University and served in the Merchant Marines in 1945.  He worked for Tasty Foods, Carlson Automotive and for Don Jordan as a tractor mechanic before beginning his career with the Sante Fe Railroad, retiring after 42 years.  Cullen enjoyed spending time on the family farm and loved traveling with his wife Pearl.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Nancy Guffey and husband Larry of North Richland Hills, TX; Peggy DeHay and husband Steve of Lubbock, TX.  3 grandchildren; Amber Graham and husband Cory of Lubbock; Tyler DeHay and wife Kerrie of Lubbock; Matt Guffey and wife Allison of Denton, TX.  4 great-grandchildren; Connor and Asher Guffey; Lily and Wren Graham. 2 sister -in-laws Ima Jean Turner and Pat Clark.  Also, numerous nieces and nephews.   Cullen is preceded in death by his wife, Pearl and his parents, George and Irene (McIver) Bobo.  Memorials Contributions may be made to Cherokee Home for Children.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
