Treats for Santa Bake-off Competition Announced for Christmas Under the Stars Festival

Press Release – The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce will host their annual “Treats for Santa Bake-off” competition at the upcoming 9th annual Christmas Under the Stars Festival on the first weekend in December.

Area bakers can enter the contest to show off their skills in several categories including pies, cakes, bars/brownies, cookies, bread/rolls, and muffins.

The contest will take place on the second day of the festival, Saturday, December 2nd.  Baked goods will only be accepted on Saturday, December 2nd from 3-4 PM at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce and judging will begin at 4:30 PM.

Scoring for each treat will be based on taste, appearance and originality.

There is no cost to enter the competition and cash prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.  Entry forms are available at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce or can be downloaded at BrownwoodChristmas.com.

The 9th annual Christmas Under the Stars Festival sponsored by Brownwood Regional Medical Center will feature holiday games, crafts, food and attractions for kids of all ages.  The event will take place on Friday, December 1st and Saturday, December 2nd from 4-8 PM at the Depot Complex and the Lehnis Railroad Museum.  Key attractions will include Mr. and Mrs. Claus, snow mountain slide, Big Wheel Races, and more.  Sponsors for the festival include Brownwood Regional Medical Center,  United Supermarkets,  McCoy’s, Walmart,  Home Depot, Brownwood Women’s Clinic, Law Offices of Jason M. Johnson, Brookshires and Landmark Life.  Big Wheel Races sponsored by Matthew Williams – State Farm and Sonic Drive-in

The annual lighted Christmas Parade will be held Thursday, November 30th at 6:30 PM in Downtown Brownwood sponsored by Texas Rock Crusher Railway.
