Jimmy Clay Wilson

Funeral services for Jimmy Clay Wilson, age 74, of Early, will be held at 2:00 Pm, Thursday in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00.

Jim passed from this life on Monday, November 6, 2017 in Abilene.

Jim was born in January 5, 1943 in Brownwood to O.N. “Blackie” and Leva (Eoff) Wilson.  He graduated from Blanket High School and married his bride in 1961.  After working in Brownwood and later College Station, they moved to Blanket and were in the dairy business almost thirty years during which time he and Joanna did roadshows, craft shows and flea markets and from which came Anna’s Attic.  The store was in Blanket for four years, then moved to Heartland Mall and were there until Jim’s health declined.

Jim is survived by his wife Joanna (Bean) Wilson of Early, a son, Robert Wilson and wife Kathy of Arlington; daughter, Hope and husband Gordon Beardon of Early; three grandchildren, Alexis Temple and husband Jon of Brownwood, Cole Beardon and wife Angie of Fort Worth and Cale Beardon and wife Aimee of Fort Worth; four great-grandchildren, MaKayla, Maddison, Braden and David; step-granddaughter Christine, step-great granddaughter, Kylie and; two brothers, Rodney Wilson and wife Judy of Blanket and Lavon Wilson and wife Judy of Weatherford, brother-in-law, Bob Edgar of Blanket and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Agatha Edgar.

A special thank you to those that responded locally and to those on the Critical Care Floor at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Missions program at Austin Avenue Church of Christ, the American Diabetes Association or to the American Cancer Society.
