Granny “Pete” Simmons

Funeral services for Granny “Pete” Simmons, age 89, of Bangs will be held Thursday, October 26 at 10 AM at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Greenleaf Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6-8 on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the funeral home.  Pete passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at her home.

Pete was born August 1, 1928 in Buda to Ed and Bessie (Underhill) Allen.  She married George Simmons on January 12, 1946; he preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children; Marcie Simmons of Bangs, Cleta Long of Bangs, Janice Nance of Brownwood, Jerry and Brenda Simmons of Blanket, and Terry Simmons of Rising Star, grandchildren Shawn Morrow, Tammi Costello, Kristi Hernandez, Georgia Harper, Selena Odom, George Long, Martin Vega, Cassia Ratliff, Katy Ratliff, Grason Ratliff, Amy Simmons, Jayce Simmons, Joseph Simmons, Seth Simmons, Sadie Simmons and Moses Simmons; and special nephew Jimmy Miller and wife, Fredene.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers and sisters, daughter, Peggy Jean Simmons and grandchild, Michial Miah Ratliff and two great granddaughters, Ashley and Samantha Hernandez.
