Don Simpson

Funeral services for Don Simpson, age 81, of Blanket, will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 19, 2017 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Blanket Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

Mr. Simpson passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017.

Don was born on June 10, 1936 in Blanket to Zora (Ratto) and Jake Simpson.  He married Patsy Janice McLaughlin on October 29, 1955 in Blanket.  He operated Don Simpson Diary in Blanket for a number of years.  He was a member of Blanket First Baptist Church.

Don is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Janice of Blanket, a daughter, Ann Simpson of Blanket, two sons, Gary Simpson of Blanket and Steve Simpson and wife Melissa of Early; six grandchildren, Tana, Chelsea, Sara, Seth, Shelbie and Austin; two brothers, Buster Simpson of Blanket and Ted Simpson and wife Paula of Early.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Jakie and Martha and a brother Bill.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance, 533 W. Uwchlan Ave, Downingtown, PA 19335 (curefa.org)
