Ten percent of sales on September 5 will be donated to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

Press Release – Golden Chick, the Dallas-based family of chicken restaurants will hold a Hurricane Harvey relief fundraiser on Tuesday, September 5. Ten percent of the sales from the day will go to the American Red Cross, with all funds being directed to specifically benefit those affected by Hurricane Harvey throughout the Texas Gulf Coast. The local Golden Chick restaurant in Brownwood has confirmed by email they will also be participating in the fundraiser at their location.

“We have a number of Golden Chick locations in the affected areas, from the Corpus area through Houston. These communities are very dear to us and we are heartbroken to see what is happening to those affected by Hurricane Harvey and its aftermath,” said Mark Parmerlee, president and CEO of Golden Chick. “Our focus is on our Gulf Coast neighbors and we invite our customers to help us provide all of the support we can at this time.”

Prior to the fundraiser on September 5, the quick-service restaurant chain has been donating hot prepared meals to shelters housing Harvey evacuees in Dallas and have been donating food to first responders in Houston.

“We are honored to be contributing to the American Red Cross to help the devastated Gulf Coast in any way we can,” said Parmerlee. “In the upcoming months we will continue to give back and serve the communities affected by the disaster.”

Golden Chick will also accept cash donations at participating store locations for customers who would like to contribute additional funds going to the American Red Cross.
