Press Release – Surfin’ The Beach Boys Tribute band will be performing at the Brownwood Coliseum on August 5th. Coming all the way from California, Surfin’ promises to take their audience down memory lane with all the Beach Boys famous hits and more.

The event, which benefits the West Texas Rehabilitation Center, is presented by Central Texas Farm Credit; Entertainment Sponsor, KTAB NEWS; Stage Sponsor, Accurate Air Solutions. Additional support comes from Citizens National Bank of Brownwood, and KOHLER Company of Brownwood.

Surfin’ is a band with a faithful recreation of what it would have been like to see The Beach Boys live, in concert, in their prime.  The band has truly captured the essence of the original Beach Boys with stunning harmonies and the genius of Brian Wilson’s music. This 5 member line-up is unrivaled in their sound, presentation, and professionalism.  The uniband choreography, the Fender guitar line up, the famous custom striped shirts, right down to the black suede Beach Boy boots – it’s all there.  SURFIN’…a great show, a great time, and fun, fun, fun, till our Daddy takes the T-Bird away!

Options for the evening event include Dinner & Show table seating or General Show Admission with upper Coliseum seats. Dinner & Show reserved tables of 8 are available for $500 – individual tickets are $75.  General Admission tickets for the show only are $20 now and $25 at the door. For information, to reserve tables or purchase tickets, contact 325-660-8338 or 325-660-8334 or go to WestTexasRehab.org. General Admission tickets may also be purchased in Brownwood at Wendlee Broadcasting, KOXE Radio, or the Brownwood Chamber of Commerce, and the West Texas Rehabilitation in Abilene, Texas.

Instrumental in the success of the event are program committee members Calvin Fryar, John Guest, Anna Hernandez, Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club Members, Ted & Martha Shelton, Rex Tackett and Mariann Tackett, Dana Thompson, and Evy Winn. Local support of Surfin’ The Beach Boys Tribute benefit includes:   Wendlee Broadcasting-KXYL Newstalk FM & AM, KQBZ The Breeze FM, KSTA Coleman AM; KOXE FM-KBWD AM; and the Early High School Key Club. Host Hotel for this year’s event is La Quinta Inn of Brownwood.

The West Texas Rehabilitation Center is a non-profit organization formed in 1953 which is dedicated to providing outpatient rehabilitative care to more than 500 children and adults each day, regardless of a patient’s financial circumstance. Proceeds from events help support patient services in order to improve the quality of life of all those served by the Rehab Center.
