Brownwood News – Law enforcement arrests and reports released Monday, July 17, 2017. All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records. If charges are dismissed or the accused is found not guilty, people listed here can contact Brownwood News and provide us with documentation. Friday, July 14th

*10:19 a.m. Brownwood Police responded to a call from the 2400 block of Songbird Circle regarding theft of property. According to the report, an unknown suspect stole jewelry, and an oil painting of a mother holding a baby from an elderly resident. An investigation is ongoing.

*10:59 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Magnolia Street regarding a theft. According to the report, a known suspect had stolen an LG 52″ television.

*11:13 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to 1050 W Commerce Street in reference to Harassment. A report was generated regarding the incident.

*12:43 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to a call from the 3200 block of Stephen F Austin regarding a theft. According to the report an unknown suspect had stolen a postal package from the porch containing “It Works” products.

*1:35 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of West Commerce regarding credit/debit card fraud.

*4:11 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to a call from the 400 block of West Commerce regarding a theft. A citation for theft of property, less than $100 was issued to a suspect.

*10:11 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2300 block of 1st Street in reference to a domestic disturbance.

Saturday, July 15th

*1:00 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3300 block of Stephen F Austin regarding a burglary of a vehicle.

*8:37 a.m. Brownwood Police responded to a call from the 1000 block of Cordell Street regarding a theft.

*9:06 a.m. Brownwood Police arrested Terry Shade in the 1000 block of Fisk Avenue for Criminal Mischief, over $750 worth of damage. According to the report, a front glass door had been destroyed.

*12:41 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of West Commerce regarding trespassing. During this call, Nichole Sanchez was arrested for Criminal Trespass. Officers also arrested Terry Crouch for Criminal Trespass and an out of county warrant. Both Crouch and Sanchez were transported to the Brown County Jail.

*4:48 p.m. Brownwood Police arrived at a north Brownwood residence to speak with a victim regarding the theft of a puppy. An active report was generated regarding the incident. The stolen puppy is reported to be a 10 week old blue lacy wearing a pink collar.

*5:17 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to the 1300 block of Avenue H in reference to juveniles attempting to break into a residence within this area. Witness was able to give a partial description of the juveniles. Investigation to criminal mischief is being conducted.

*5:22 p.m. Brownwood Police investigated a report of graffiti in the 900 block of Vine Street.

*9:15 p.m Brownwood Police conducted a traffic stop for expired registration in the 3000 block of Ave K. Joel Tanner Smith was arrested and charged for Tampering/Fabricate Physical Evidence with the Intent to Impair and Possession of Marijuana <2 oz Drug Free Zone.

*11:29 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of W Commerce in reference to a disturbance. After an investigation, Stanton Fanning was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence Class A Misdemeanor.

Sunday, July 16th

*1:44 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to 3801 4th Street in reference to theft. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the 7-Eleven clerk, who explained that he had stopped a female after she attempted to leave the store with a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20. The female was issued a citation for theft and was released.

*4:02 a.m. Brownwood Police conducted a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Slayden Street for defective equipment: right back brake light. During the course of this traffic stop, officers arrested Patricia Ann Cody for Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Driving with License Invalid with Previous Convictions.

*5:06 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Cordell in reference to a domestic disturbance. After an investigation, Xavier S. R. Barron was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence Class A Misdemeanor.

*4:11 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of W Commerce Street in reference to theft. During this incident, a female was observed by employees selecting items in the store and immediately returning the items to the service desk for cash, without ever paying for the merchandise. This call led to a citation being issued to the suspect for Class C Theft. The suspect was released at the scene.

*5:23 p.m. Brownwood Police Department responded to the 2300 BLK of 1st Street in reference to theft. According to the report, two known suspects stole a computer.
