Brownwood News – Law enforcement arrests and reports released Tuesday, July 11, 2017. All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records. If charges are dismissed or the accused is found not guilty, people listed here can contact Brownwood News and provide us with documentation. Friday, July 7th

*1:09 p.m. Brownwood Police spoke to a female at the Brownwood Police Department in reference to identity theft. The female stated that her children’s information had been used to apply for a credit card. A suspect was named and a report was generated.

Saturday, July 8th

*5:19 a.m. A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped to check a suspicious parked vehicle in the 13000 block of Highway 183 North. According to the deputy’s report, the driver was behaving strangely and appeared to be under the influence of some type of drug. After a consent search of the vehicle, the driver was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance after the deputy discovered methamphetamine weighing around 2.0 grams with packaging, 2 morphine tablets weighing less than 1 gram, and approximately 9.8 grams of Alprazolam tablets. They were also charged with possession of miscellaneous substance for 4.0 grams of amphetamine tablets, possession of a dangerous drug for 6.9 grams of Paraoxetine tablets, and possession of a dangerous drug for 0.8 grams of Hydroxyzine tablets. A printer, which appeared to possibly be involved in counterfeiting, was also seized from the vehicle.

Monday, July 10th

*1:40 a.m. Brownwood Police responded to the 300 block of Bluffview in reference to a disturbance. After an investigation, Acey Sliger Jr. was arrested for Assault by Threat Family Member Class C Misdemeanor, and Criminal Mischief greater than $100 less than $750 Class B Misdemeanor.

*8:18 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 100 block of N. Center Avenue regarding a burglary of a building. According to the report, an unknown suspect forced entry into the residence through a window and stole collectible items.

*8:43 a.m. Brownwood Police Officer responded to the 1000 block of Poindexter Street in regards to a theft call, specifically unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. A case number was generated and the case is still active.

*12:46 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of Vincent for a criminal mischief. A report has been generated.

*3:00 p.m. Brownwood Police Officer responded to the 1000 block of Avenue  B in regards to a criminal mischief call. A case number was generated and the case is still active.

*10:36 p.m. Brownwood Police patrolling in the 2100 block of Slayden Street observed two suspicious vehicles parked in the Brownwood High School’s parking lot. The officer conducted a safety check on the vehicles. After making contact with the individuals, officers arrested Carson Douglas Cloy for Possession of Marijuana <2 ounces, in a Drug Free Zone.
