Lola Doris Priddy

Funeral services for Lola Doris Priddy, age 90, of Bangs, Texas will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Rocky Creek Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in the Rocky Creek Cemetery under the direction of the Heartland Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.  Mrs. Priddy passed away Saturday in a local nursing home.

Lola was born on April 21, 1927 in the McDaniel Community in Brown County, Texas to Frank Clarence and Mary Kathryn Koch Blair.  She grew up in attending the Rocky Creek Baptist Church and was a 1945 graduate of Bangs High School.  On June 8, 1946 she married J.A. Priddy in Brownwood and he preceded her in death on December 23, 2003.  Being a minister’s wife, Lola lived in several places and they were members of the “Sound of Gospel” singing group. In 1993 she returned to Bangs and was a member of the Victory Baptist Church, was a homemaker and did ironing for the public.

Survivors include her sons Dennis Priddy and wife Phyllis of Sidney, Texas and Travis and Ruthie Priddy of Brownwood; grandchildren Sigrid Huddleston and husband Scott, Sharla Jones and husband Jeffrey, Meredith Stone and Cody Stone; great grandchildren Abigail, Ty and Ely Huddleston, Weston Stone, Samuel Priddy, Travis Priddy, Faith Priddy and Zephaniah Priddy.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and twelve siblings.
