Brownwood News – Law enforcement arrests and reports released Tuesday, May 30, 2017. All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records. If charges are dismissed or the accused is found not guilty, people listed here can contact Brownwood News and provide us with documentation. Your name and mug shot then will be removed from this site in 3-5 business days. Brownwood News will no longer publish names of individuals with Class C Misdemeanor charges.

Friday, May 26th

*5:04 p.m. Brownwood Police spoke with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding a theft. The person told officers an unknown suspect had stolen a white gold diamond ring. A report was filed.

*5:43 p.m. Brownwood Police spoke with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center who claimed their phone was stolen while they were at Home Depot. A report was filed.

*6:00 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of Vine Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. After further investigation, officers arrested William Bradley Burns for Assault Causing Bodily Injury/Family Violence.

*8:04 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to the 500 block of E. Baker Street in regards to an assault. Gerardo Mares and three juveniles were arrested for Assault Causing Bodily Injury and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.

Saturday, May 27th

*10:44 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to a south Brownwood business in reference to a theft. A report was generated.

*1:08 p.m. Brownwood Police were  dispatched to 401 W. Commerce Street in reference to theft. This call led to the arrest of Bertha Gonzales for theft $100<$750.

*9:00 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2300 block of Stephen F. Austin regarding Criminal Mischief. According to the report, a west side door of the VFW post was damaged.

Sunday, May 28th

*12:06 a.m. Brownwood Police conducted a traffic stop near the 1200 block of Austin Avenue. During the stop, officers arrested Charles David Holland for Driving While Intoxicated, 2nd or more offense. Holland is also charged with Criminal Mischief, Retaliation. In the report, a Brownwood Patrol vehicle was damaged.

*3:46 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1900 block of Southside Drive in reference to a domestic disturbance. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the involved parties. A report has been generated.

*1:00 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to a call from the 2600 block of Crockett Drive regarding disorderly conduct. Officers arrested a 52 year old man for allegedly exposing his anus/genitals in a public place, which is a Class C Misdemeanor.

*11:36 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3000 block of Asbury Street in reference to a burglary of a vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the involved parties. According to the report, a black Block 42 sub-compact 9MM handgun was stolen from the vehicle.

Monday, May 29th

*8:27 p.m. A Brownwood Police Officer,patrolling in the 1300 block of 3rd Street, conducted a traffic stop on a gold Dodge pickup for failing to display registration sticker. The driver of vehicle, identified as Stevie Lee Rose, was arrested for Assault on Public Servant, Resisting Arrest Search or Transport, Driving While License Invalid w/previous Convictions and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

*10:00 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 4400 block of Mimosa in reference to a domestic disturbance. After an investigation and an assault on a Police Officer, David Wayne Jernigan was arrested for Assault on a Public Servant – 3rd Degree Felony, Resisting Arrest Search of Transport – Class A Misdemeanor, and Assault with Injury Family Member by Strangulation – 3rd Degree Felony.
