Zelda Loretta Waldon

Funeral services for Zelda Loretta Waldon, age 91, of Early, Texas will be held 11:00 AM Saturday May 20, 2017 at the Heartland Funeral Home in Early, Texas, with Bro. Eddie Ailshie officiating.  Interment will follow in the Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early, Texas.  The family will receive friends at 9:30 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.   Mrs. Waldon passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Zelda was born on June 19, 1925 in Caradan, Texas to Johnny Lee and Myrtle Mae Obenhaus Stewart and was a graduate of Goldthwaite High School. On March 6, 1946, she married Miles C. Waldon in Deleon, Texas and he preceded her in death on August 11, 2005.  During her working career Zelda worked at the Telephone Company, Walgreens, school cafeteria, and Wal-Mart until her retirement in 2000. Zelda was a member at the Early First Baptist Church, and a volunteer with the Good Samaritan Organizations.

She is survived by her children; Paula Clarkson and husband Marty of Munford, Tennessee, John Waldon of Bangs, TX, Janet Emerson and husband Gayland of Stephenville, Tx, Roger Waldon of Lake Brownwood, TX; siblings Maxine Shipp of Hico, Texas, Alvis Stewart of San Antonio, Dalma Brown of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and by numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Johnny Lee Stewart and Myrtle Stewart Touchstone, husband Miles Waldon and son; Miles Lee Waldon who passed away in 1956.
