BISD Press Release – Beginning in the 2017-2018 school year, grades 4, 5 and 6 in Brownwood ISD will be under one campus name. The Coggin Elementary School and Brownwood Intermediate School names are merging into Coggin Intermediate School. Coggin Intermediate will be led by Principal Todd Lewis, current principal at Coggin Elementary. Ms. Stacy Loftin, current counselor at East Elementary, and Ms. Ann Fowler, current teacher at Coggin, were chosen as the assistant principals by a committee of teachers from each campus.

While all facilities currently used for grades 4, 5 and 6 will continue to be utilized, there will be some relocation of classrooms. Grades 4 and 5 will be housed in the one-story building (currently Brownwood Intermediate) and grade 6 will be housed in the two-story building (currently Coggin Elementary School).

Brownwood ISD is committed to providing the most advantageous settings in which students can grow and learn. From this goal, these decisions were made. Please check the Coggin Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document on their website (www.brownwoodisd.org/coggin) for more details. This document will be regularly updated with logistical information approaching the 2017-2018 school year.
