Brownwood News – Law enforcement arrests and reports released Monday, May 15, 2017. All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records. If charges are dismissed or the accused is found not guilty, people listed here can contact Brownwood News and provide us with documentation. Your name and mug shot then will be removed from this site in 3-5 business days. Brownwood News will no longer publish names of individuals with Class C Misdemeanor charges.

Friday, May 12th

*9:52 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Davis Lane regarding an assault. A report for Assault-Family Violence was filed.

*12:34 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Commerce Street in reference to a possible forgery call. Information was obtained and the forgery was confirmed. It was also determined that an un-reported burglary of a habitation had occurred. Suspects were located and 41 year old Eric Wayne Shifflett, of Abilene, and 31 year old Jessica Ann Perkins, of Brownwood, were arrested for Forgery of a Financial Instrument, and Burglary of a Habitation.

*1:00 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1900 Block of 1st Street in reference to a burglary. Possible suspects were named and a report was taken to be passed on for further investigation.

*6:28 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Commerce St. in reference to a theft. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the involved parties. A citation was issued to a 30 year old female who had allegedly stolen articles of clothing.

Saturday, May 13th

*9:55 a.m. Brownwood Police were  dispatched to the 600 block of 2nd Street in reference to drugs being discovered at the location. Information was gathered and evidence was seized. A juvenile suspect was named and issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia, after officers located a marijuana grinder “designed as a pokemon ball,” as well as a set of brass knuckles.

*3:02 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to a north side Brownwood business in reference to theft. A report was generated at the request of the complainant.

*5:00 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 Block of W. Commerce in reference to criminal trespass. After investigation, officers arrested Carrie Michelle Thetford for Criminal Trespassing.

Sunday, May 14th

*12:41 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3300 block of Stephen F Austin in reference to a domestic disturbance. Officers met with the victim and received information regarding the incident. The suspect, identified as Jesus Gutierrez, was no longer on scene, but was located at the 1000 block of Santa Clara. Investigation showed Jesus Gutierrez did cause bodily injury and pain to the victim and was the primary aggressor. Jesus Gutierrez was placed under arrest for Assault Causing Bodily Injury – Family Violence.

*9:00 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1300 Block of Austin Avenue in regards to criminal mischief. A report was taken to be passed on for further investigation.

*4:12 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Washington Street in reference to an accident. Upon further investigation, the driver of the wrecked vehicle, 38 year old David Wallace, of Early, was arrested and booked into the Brown County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated, 3rd or more offense, as well as an outstanding Hood County warrant for Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

*7:30 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2800 South U.S. 377 in reference to two motor vehicles driving recklessly. A complainant advised a pickup truck had struck the rear end of another vehicle. Upon arrival, two subjects identified as Damon Rayburn and Casey Durant were located on scene. Officer’s investigations lead to an investigation of a previous incident at the 2600 block of Avenue C. Damon Rayburn was transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for treatment and medically cleared. Investigation showed Damon Rayburn was found to have assaulted Casey Durant at the 2800 block of Avenue C and was in violation of his protective order from a previous victim by being within 500 feet of her location. Damon Rayburn was placed under arrest for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Violation of Protective Order, and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Casey Durant was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
