Neva Pearl Baker Bass

Neva Bass 89, passed away May 10, 2017 at a rest home in Eden, Texas.

Neva Pearl Baker Bass was born December 31, 1927 in Quanah, Texas to Clara and Carl Baker. Neva then spent most of her childhood in Brownfield, Texas where she met her husband of 65 years Otis Lee “Boots” Bass Sr. and was married on October 18, 1946, in Anson, Texas and lived in their first home in Abilene, Texas until moving to Brownfield to farm until 1991 when they retired. She was a devoted believer in Christ as her only savior, wife, mother, homemaker, seamstress, and quilter.

Neva is survived by her children; Pam Bass Higginbotham and husband Bill of Broken Arrow, Ok, Judy Pearl Bass Thurber and husband Steve of Dallas, Texas, Otis Lee Bass Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, Jeanne Lynn Bass Ailshie and husband Eddie of Early, Texas. Seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings; Ivy Isabelle Ray, Elsie Early, Mary Lee Simpson, Floyd Baker, and Sonny Baker.

Neva was a longtime member of Brownfield First Baptist Church and was currently a member of the Early First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held on Monday May 15, 2017 from 6-8PM at Heartland Funeral Home in Early, Texas. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday May 16, 2017 at 10AM at Early First Baptist Church. A private burial will be held prior to the service.
