Brownwood News – Law enforcement arrests and reports released Monday, May 8, 2017. All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records. If charges are dismissed or the accused is found not guilty, people listed here can contact Brownwood News and provide us with documentation. Your name and mug shot then will be removed from this site in 3-5 business days. Brownwood News will no longer publish names of individuals with Class C Misdemeanor charges.

Friday, May 5th

*3:01 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to the 2400 block of 1st Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. A report was generated.

*4:45 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2600 block of Avenue C for a burglary of a habitation. According to the report, an unknown suspect gained access to the residence. A television and Wii gaming system were reported stolen. An investigation is ongoing.

*5:00 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to a walk-in complainant regarding a theft of a firearm. An officer spoke with the complainant and a report was generated for Theft of a Firearm, State Jail Felony.

*9:00 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Brady Avenue in reference to burglary. An officer spoke with the complainant and a report was generated for Burglary of a Habitation, a 2nd Degree Felony.

*10:58 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Market Place Drive in reference to a domestic disturbance in a vehicle. After conducting a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle, Lawrence Harling was arrested for Assault on a Family Member with prior convictions. Harling was transported to the Brown County Jail.

*11:07 p.m. Brownwood Police arrested Mark Hernandez in the Police Department Parking lot for Driving While Intoxicated. Hernandez had drove from Ft Worth to turn himself into the Brown County Jail for his weekend jail commitment. His reckless driving was called in by a concerned citizen that was nearly run off of the road by him.

Saturday, May 6th

*3:45 a.m. Brownwood Police were flagged down by a resident in the 1100 block of 3rd street. After a short investigation, a 24 year old male was arrested for Public Intoxication and released to jail staff at the Brown County Sheriff’s Office.

*10:49 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the Law Enforcement Center in reference to a hit and run accident. During the investigation a suspect was identified. An active report was generated regarding the incident.

*1:39 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to 401 Brazos Street in reference to a Burglary. Unknown suspects forced entry into a residence. Several train sets, a large television, an LG blue ray player, and other items were reported stolen. Evidence was obtained at the scene and an active report was generated regarding the incident.

*2:00 p.m. Early Police, Early Fire Department, and Lifeguard responded to a 3-vehicle accident near the 200 block of Early Blvd. Multiple injuries were reported and three individuals were transported by ambulance. According to the report, a vehicle failed to stop behind the other 2 vehicles, striking the vehicles in the rear causing a chain reaction.

*4:28 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to the 1800 block of 9th Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. A report was generated.

*5:00 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Santa Clara in reference to a domestic disturbance. After an investigation, Patrick Tyler Gordon was arrested for Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Sunday, May 7th

*1:00 a.m. A Brownwood Police Officer conducted a traffic stop near the 1400 block of Coggin Avenue after observing a violation. Contact with the driver was made and he indicated that he had been in a verbal altercation with his girlfriend approximately 30 minutes prior to the traffic stop. After further investigation, it was determined that the subject had been slapped by his girlfriend. A report was completed for assault by offensive touch family member.

*10:33 a.m. Brownwood Police conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of 7th Street. During the stop, Dustin Crosby was arrested for Driving with License Invalid with previous convictions.

*7:20 p.m. Early Police stopped a vehicle in the 900 block of Early Blvd for a traffic violation. The officer observed an open beer can in the console and the driver, Toby Lynn Bueno, was acting extremely nervous. After further investigation, the officer located a bag containing marijuana along with drug paraphernalia. Toby Lynn Bueno was placed under arrest and taken to the Brown County Jail.

*11:20 p.m. Early Police responded to the 1000 block of Early Blvd regarding family violence. Officers made contact with the female victim who stated her boyfriend, Jesus Ariel Hernandez Jr., had “slammed her head on the floor and dragged her around the apartment by her hair and strangled her by the neck.” The victim was bleeding from places on her arms and legs and showed signs of being strangled around the neck. The suspect Hernandez had left the scene before officers arrived. Officers were able to locate Hernandez on County Road 234. Hernandez was arrested for Assault Family Violence Impede Breath, a felony 3rd degree.

Monday, May 8th

*3:33 a.m. Brownwood Police stopped a bicyclist at the intersection of 4th Street and Magnolia Street for a violation. After investigation, the bicyclist was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.
