Brookesmith ISD Release – On Saturday April 22nd, the Brookesmith Accounting Team competed at the State UIL Meet in Austin. Dylan Hancock brought home the gold medal for Conference 1A. Kutter Smith earned himself a medal with a fifth place finish. As a team Dylan, Kutter, and MacKenzee Hear placed second and each received a silver medal.

For Dylan and Kutter this was their third year to compete in accounting and their second State appearance. Dylan placed fourth last year.  Due to unforeseen circumstances, their original teammate who competed with them at District and Regional was unable to participate at State. MacKenzee, with no background in accounting, bravely agreed to step in with only three days’ notice

The team credits their success to long time Brookesmith accounting teacher Mrs. Cynthia Mean, who retired in January.
