Robert Earl Cumba

Robert Earl Cumba 57 passed away Tuesday April 4, 2017 at Abilene Regional Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held Saturday April 8,at 11am at the Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel.  A Visitation will be held Friday from 6-8pm at the Brownwood Funeral Home.

Robert Cumba was born in Stamford TX to Earl and Velma Cumba. Robert moved to Snyder TX at an early age and attended school there graduating in 1978.  Soon after high school Robert began working as a machinist in the Oil Field. In the early 80’s Robert moved to Brownwood. He began working at Kohler and worked there for several years.  Robert enrolled in school at Howard Payne University and  became a Chemical Dependency Counselor. Robert decided to use what he learned for the State of Texas and was employed by the Texas Youth Commission for 13 years where he helped and mentored many youth. Some of the things Robert liked to do was Cook, Fish and he absolutely loved playing his Guitar.
Left to cherish his memories are 2 sons; Jarritt Alan Cumba and wife Sarah of Brownwood, Jordan Lee Cumba of Brownwood, sisters; Jeanie Rice and husband Bobby of Snyder, Mary Babcock and husband Don of Morrison CO, granddaughter Sophia Cumba of Brownwood, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. The family suggests that memorial contrubtions be sent to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
