Police Blotter: 3/29 Eviction Notice leads to Meth Discovery

The Brownwood Police Department and the Brown County Sheriff’s Office were notified of narcotic activity after constables serving an eviction notice on Tuesday discovered a large amount of methamphetamine.
Constables were serving the eviction notice to Martin Sanchez in the 2500 block of Avenue B.
After discovering the methamphetamine, the constables then notified police. The Brownwood Police Department narcotics detective along with the sheriff’s investigator went to the residence and located 22 grams of methamphetamine, along with scales and packaging for distribution, according to police reports.
Investigators seized the narcotics and other evidence, along with $3,000 in cash and Sanchez’s phone.
A Taylor County warrant had also been issued for Sanchez for theft.
Martin Sanchez was transported to the Brown County Jail and is being held in lieu of bonds totaling $55,000.

Monday, March 27th

*6:58 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Avenue E in reference to a domestic disturbance. Officers spoke to the victim, suspect, and witnesses. A report was generated for Assault Causing Bodily Injury-Family Violence.

Tuesday, March 28th

*9:30 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Austin Avenue regarding juveniles consuming alcohol at a park. After arriving on the scene officers discovered four juveniles consuming alcohol, as well as narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The juveniles were taken into custody.
