March Chamber Luncheon to Feature Online Reputation Management

Press Release – The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce will host their next luncheon on Friday, March 17th featuring speaker Sheila Scarborough on the subject of Online Reputation Management. The luncheon will be held at the Brownwood Country Club. Buffet lunch opens at 11:30 a.m. and the program will begin at noon. Cost is $14 per person payable to the Brownwood Country Club for lunch.  RSVP to the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce at 325-646-9535.

The March luncheon is sponsored by Bruner Auto Group.

Customers, visitors, and hotel guests today expect personal online interaction with businesses, destinations, attractions, and lodging. They also expect a rapid response to their feedback; both the positive shout-outs and the complaints. Learn how to find the online conversations that matter to your business, particularly on social media, and then how to respond and interact with your customers. Digital communications is more than just marketing; it is also a powerful customer service tool that reflects on your reputation for a great customer experience.

Sheila Scarborough is a speaker and trainer specializing in tourism, travel, and social media. She’s written for many blogs and print publications and is also a certified Navy Master Training Specialist, with years of experience as an instructor.

Along with Leslie McLellan, Sheila is part of the Tourism Currents team, offering online and in-person training in social media for tourism and hospitality.

Winner of the “Austin American-Statesman” Texas Social Media Award and an AWC (Association for Women in Communications) Clarion award, Sheila trains and speaks regularly about social media to a variety of audiences including tourism and economic development experts, public relations and marketing professionals, and Chambers of Commerce.

She is on the National Professional Development Committee for the AWC, co-founded and still writes for the award-winning Perceptive Travel blog, is active on the Round Rock, Texas Chamber of Commerce Entrepreneurship Council, and serves on the Programming Committee for SXSWi (the South by Southwest Interactive tech conference.) She is also part of the organizing team for #tourismchat, a monthly online Twitter chat about a variety of topics related to destination marketing.

A U.S. Navy veteran who is married with two children, Sheila is an NHRA drag racing fan because there is one winner, one loser, and no whining.
