Joe H. Robbins, age 84, of Brownwood passed away March 8, 2017 at his residence. Joe was born August 19, 1932, to Henry and Viola (Wilson) Robbins in Brown County.

Joe loved the Lord and was a longtime member and deacon of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. He was also a huge Brownwood Lions fan and served on the School Board as member and past president.  Joe served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Joe loved fishing and had a standing seat at “The table of knowledge.” His most notable accomplishment was serving the citizens of Brownwood for 41 years as a Police Officer and holding every position throughout the police force including being the elected Chief of Police for 6 years. His greatest joy in this world were his wife, children and grandchildren.

Joe is survived by his wife of 61 years, Clara Robbins of Brownwood; sons, Robbie Robbins and wife April of Burleson, and Randy Robbins of Azle. Grandchildren and great grandchildren, Candice and Jason Cline (Levi and Ryleigh), Chad and Jennifer Robbins (Renner and Easton), Lacey and Ryon Clifton (Rook and soon to be great granddaughter), Laramie and Cade Ratto (Lenleigh and Karsyn); and one sister, Sylvia Webb of Brownwood. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and a host of friends.  He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Joe Robbins; his parents; and a sister, Margie Porter.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday March 10, 2017 at Coggin Ave. Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Skaggs and Bro. Bill Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday evening at Blaylock Funeral Home in Brownwood.  The family requests in Lieu of Flowers memorial contributions be made to Coggin Ave. Baptist Church or The Brownwood Municipal Police Officers Association.   The family would like to give a special thank you to the Redstone staff for their loving care and attention.  Online Condolences may be left at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
