Police Blotter: 2/22

Law enforcement arrests and reports released Wednesday, February 22, 2017. All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records.

Saturday, February 18th

*12:00 p.m. Early Police received a call regarding a reckless driver near East 377 heading towards Early. Officers located the driver, and issued a warning regarding their driving.
*1:40 p.m. Early Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Trailer Drive at a city park regarding an individual bothering children. The person was located and told to leave the park and stay away from the children.
*3:15 p.m. Early Police responded to a Domestic Disturbance near the 200 block of  Trailer Drive at the city park. According to the report a male and female were “hollering” at each other.
*9:45 p.m. Early Police received a call regarding a Reckless Driver on Hwy 377 East, driving on the wrong side of road. Officers located the driver, who had just received their license, and explained the rules of the road.

Sunday, February 19th

*8:50 a.m. Early Police responded to a walk-in at the Law Enforcement Center. A complainant reported being harassed by her boyfriend.

*10:40 a.m. Early Police responded to an accidentally activated alarm near the 200 block of Bluebonnet.

*12:10 p.m.  Early Police assisted a motorist on Early Boulevard. Officers ensured the vehicle was moved from roadway.

*3:28 p.m. Early Police responded to a domestic disturbance complaint from a walk-in at the department.
*6:45 p.m. Early Police were called to the 200 block of Early Boulevard regarding disorderly conduct. According to the report, a caller claimed an individual appeared to be masturbating in the drive-thru. Officers made contact with the driver later, who stated he was “readjusting.” No charges were filed.
*8:20 p.m. Early Police responded to a call about a suspicious person near the 200 block of Homewood Circle. Officers located a homeless person sitting near a building. The individual refused a ride or assistance and later left the area.

Monday, February 20th

*6:29 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Booker Street regarding a hit and run.

*10:48 a.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 600 block of West Commerce Street in reference to a forgery. A report has been filed.

*12:19 p.m. Brownwood Police conducted a traffic stop near the 1800 block of Main Boulevard. During the stop, officers detected signs of recent marijuana use. The driver and passenger were issued citations for the possession of drug paraphernalia.

*3:51 p.m. Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding identity theft. A report was filed.

*7:30 p.m. Early Police were called to the 800 block of Early Boulevard. According to the report, an individual who had previously stolen merchandise from that location had returned. Officers located the person, who was a minor, and issued a trespass warning. The minor was then released to a parent.

*9:40 p.m. Early Police were called to the 1300 block of Sherry Lane. A caller reported a broken water pipe in the residence and didn’t know how to cut off the water. Officers assisted.

*11:34 p.m. Brownwood Police conducted a stop on a bicyclist near the 3900 block of 2nd Street. After investigation, officers arrested Wyatt Burleson for Possession of Marijuana, less than 2 ounces, in a Drug Free Zone.

*11:38 p.m. Brownwood Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the area of 4th and Coggin Avenue. The driver initially failed to pull over and officers followed behind the suspect at slow speeds for a few blocks until he finally came to a stop. During the stop, the driver was found to be intoxicated. Officers arrested Guadalupe Barrera for Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle, and Driving While Intoxicated, 2nd Offense.

Tuesday, February 21st

*1:25 a.m. Brownwood Police conducted a traffic stop near 5th Street and Avenue A. During the stop, officers arrested Carrie Cox for Possession of a Controlled Substance, less than 1 gram.

*3:49 a.m. Brownwood Police were called to a domestic disturbance near the 1900 block of Avenue D. After investigation, officers arrested Xavier Jamison for Disorderly Conduct and Possession of a Controlled Substance, less than 1 gram.

*7:27 p.m. Brownwood Police were called to do a welfare check on an individual near the 900 block of Austin Avenue. After investigation, officers arrested Thomas Brummett for Public Intoxication.

*10:56 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Coggin Avenue regarding an intoxicated person. After investigation, officers arrested James Young for Driving While Intoxicated.
