Cynthia “Nannie” Hawkins Leverett

Graveside Services for Cynthia “Nannie” Hawkins Leverett, age 90, of Brownwood will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Mount Olive Cemetery in Mills County with Pastor Troy Young officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.

Cynthia went to be with her Heavenly Father Wednesday, February 01, 2017. Cynthia was born on October 13, 1926, to John and Annie (Regian) Hawkins in Caradan (Mills County), Texas. She attended Comanche High School and TCU Business College.

Cynthia was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, affectionately known as Nannie; she adored her family. She was an excellent cook. She loved baking and gardening. She was a member of Country Side Baptist Church in Kempner for many years.

Cynthia is survived by her children, Leo Dickerson, Jr. and wife Ronda of Crowley, John Dickerson and wife Pat of Colorado, Cindy Miller of Austin, Sara Mathis and husband Bill of Gatesville, and Nola Sweatman of Brownwood; grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Richard, C.J., Lauren, Chris, Makenzi, Caisyn, Paige, and Hanna; and 3 great-grandchildren, Collin, Justus, Kaitlyn, and 3 on the way. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Leverett; parents, John and Annie Hawkins; sister, Dorothy Boyd; 2 brothers, Gorman Hawkins and William Mack Hawkins; and 1 granddaughter, Jessica “Froggy” Yezak.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Mt. Olive Cemetery Association and Church (mail donations to Mount Olive Association Mr. Glynn Collier, 1602 Reynolds St. Goldthwaite, TX 76889 in memory of Cynthia Leverett).
