The Annual Forage Seminar is set for Tuesday, January 24, 2017. It will be held at the First Baptist Church in Cross Plains. Registration will begin at 8:30a.m. and the program will start at 9:00a.m..
This program has become one of the premier in our area concerning forage production and hay. Hay prices in our area are trending lower but that is not necessarily good news if you are trying to sell hay.
Topics to be covered include:
- Forage insect pest management
- Interpreting your forage test
- Weed/brush control in forages
- Where to cut production costs
- NRCS program update
- Pesticide laws & regulations
Six (6) CEU’s will be offered to TDA licensed pesticide applicators.

Anyone planning to attend should RSVP by January 19th by contacting the Callahan County Extension Office at 325-854-5835, the Coleman County Extension Office at 325-625-4519, or the Brown County Extension Office at 325-646-0386.
There will be a $20 registration fee payable at the door if you RSVP otherwise it will be $25. A catered noon meal is included.
