Funeral Services for Chad Smith, age 47, of Dallas formerly of Brownwood will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Miles officiating; private interment at a later date. Visitation will be held prior to services from 12– 2 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home.  Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.

Chad unexpectedly passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016, in Dallas. He was born to Paul and Jan (Bolton) Smith on June 20, 1969, in Las Vegas, NV. He attended Brownwood High School and graduated from Lake View High School in 1987.  He attended TSTC, pursuing his career as a CNC Programmer. Chad had been a CNC Programmer for 7 years. Through those years he worked for Quick Turn Technology in Desoto, Richard Chad Smith Americase, Inc., and recently Multicam, Inc. in Dallas. He was very skilled and knowledgeable in his career field and took pride in his work.

Chad was the “life of the party” with his larger than life personality and infectious laugh. He had a love for the outdoors; whether it was hunting, shooting, or his favorite, kayaking, he enjoyed it. But most of all he loved his family, his wonderful nieces and nephews, and friends.  Chad will be greatly missed by all.

Chad is survived by his dad, Paul Smith and wife Aleece of Brownwood; mom, Jan Bolton of Carrolton; brothers, Tyson Smith of Brownwood, Zane Smith and wife Angela of Keller, and James Ashley Brewer of Dallas; sister, DeeDee Brauer and husband Scott of Dripping Springs; and maternal grandparents, Bill and Betty Bolton of Lubbock. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and his cat, Newton.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Alex and Frances Smith, and J.D. and Mary Jo Scott.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (2222 Welborn Street Dallas, Texas 75219). Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
