Press Release – Keep Brownwood Beautiful was selected on behalf of Kohler Co., to receive a $2,000.00 donation in support of Sustainability Programs. At Kohler, they “Believe in Better,” and support Keep Brownwood Beautiful’s dedication to improving the quality of life for those in our community.

“We are thrilled and honored that the Kohler Company selected KBB for supporting our efforts in sustainability’” said Cary Perrin KBB Program Coordinator. “We would like to thank Mitzi Dahlberg for facilitating this donation.”
KBB has been developing a demonstration site at the Community Plaza located at Avenues A and Brady.  This site shows a variety of plants that are natives of Texas or considered well-adapted to Brownwood.  In addition, the driveway is made of two examples of durable and porous material know as grass and gravel pave.  These alternatives can reduce water runoff and potentially localized flooding.

Another sustainable project KBB is doing at the Community Plaza will be rainwater collection demonstrations. This will show a simple system that can be duplicated at home.
Keep Brownwood Beautiful is a local non-profit group.  The mission of KBB is to empower the citizens of Brownwood through education and participation to take responsibility for their community environment.
