Julianne (Julie) Barrick went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo following an accident in her home.  She was a strong and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Julie was born on August 1, 1938 to Dorothy Lucille Friday on a farm in Marion County, Kansas, with her grandmother as the midwife.  Julie lived in several places in Kansas, Oklahoma, and California before graduating from high school in Ottowa, Kansas.  After graduation, she moved to Nampa, Idaho to be with Elsie and Leo Reed.  Leo was the pastor of the First Baptist Church in Nampa.  While going to church and Sunday school, she met Keith Barrick.  They were married on December 19, 1959, raised two sons, and were together for 57 years while living in Montana, Idaho, and Nevada.  They spent the last 22 years in Brownwood, Texas where Julie was involved in the Life Liners line dancers, Good Samaritan ministries, and Coggin Avenue Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choirs and S.O.S Sunday school group.  Julie loved to spend her time cooking, reading, sewing, and gardening, but she enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling with her husband, Keith, most of all.

Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Lawson, and survived by her husband, Keith Barrick, two sons and their wives: Michael and Lisa Barrick and Stephen and Deborah Barrick, and six beloved grandchildren: Christopher, Gregory, Kaitlyn, and Adrienne Barrick, and Maxwell and ShelbyAnne Carney.  There are also two sisters and a brother: Patty (Roger) Crump, Carol Bays, and Jim (Jodi) Lawson, as well as several nephews, nieces and cousins, and a multitude of friends.

The funeral arrangements are being made by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.  There will be a viewing on Sunday, December 18 from 4 pm to 6 pm with the celebration of life on Monday, December 19 at 2:00 pm at the Davis-Morris Chapel.  A short graveside service will be held at Eastlawn Memorial Park following the Chapel service.  In lieu of flowers, consider sending donations to the Good Samaritan Ministries in Brownwood.
