December 12 – Brownwood 4-H Club Meeting 6:00p.m. at Extension Office

12 – Consumer Decision Making Meeting 5:00p.m. at Extension Office

13 – Bangs 4-H Club Meeting 6:00p.m. at Bangs ISD

13 – Early 4-H Club Meeting 6:30p.m. at Early Chamber of Commerce

15 – Annual Community Service Project (Turkey Boxes) 12:30p.m. at the Extension Office

18 – Mandatory Horse Practice 2:00p.m. at Extension Office

20 – Rabbit Club Meeting 7:00p.m. at Extension Office

23-26 – Extension Office Closed for Christmas Holiday

BROWN COUNTY 4-H NEWS AND UPDATES

  • CONSUMER DECISION MAKING

Consumer Decision Making educates participants on becoming smart shoppers, making sound decisions, and public speaking. If you are interested in Consumer Decision Making or finding out more information about this project we will have an information meeting on December 12, 2016, 5:00p.m. at the Extension Office.

  • 4-H FOOD CHALLENGE PRACTICE

If you are interested in participating in the 4-H Food Challenge contest you need to attend practice on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, 4:30p.m. at the Extension Office. If you have any questions or need more information, please call Nick Gonzales at the Extension Office.

  • TURKEY BOXES

The Annual Community Service project is making 35 Turkey Boxes to be donated to the Family Service Center so that we can help families have Christmas dinner.

The boxes will be wrapped and delivered to the Family Service Center on December 15th.  If you are planning on participating you need to be at the Extension Office at 12:30p.m. on December 15th. Pizza and drinks will be served for lunch. There will be a Christmas social following the delivery of the boxes. Please RSVP by Wednesday, December 14th if you will be participating so that we can excuse 4-H members who don’t have early release that Thursday. 

Call the Extension Office if you have any questions or concerns. Below is a list of the items that need to be put into each box.

  • Gravy
  • Stuffing
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Cranberry Sauce
  • Corn
  • Corn Bread Mix
  • Instant Potatoes
  • Brownie Mix
  • Green Beans

* If you would like contribute any of these items you may bring them by the Extension Office before December 15th.

* Following the delivery of the boxes there will be a Christmas Social at Academy Lanes Bowling Alley from 2:30pm – 4:00pm. The cost will be $2.75/person and game.
