On Thursday, December 8th from 5:30-8:30 p.m. the Boy Scout Troop 14 will being having a Chick-Fil-A night inside Heartland Mall in Early. Portion of sales of food and cookies will be donated to the troop. Monies will be used for troop hut repair, gear, and scholarships for camp.

District Executive Jason Silsby will be there as well conducting a recruiting night. Boys over the age of 11 are encouraged to come out and learn more about the scouting program, and visit with current scouts.

Troop 14 has been established in Brownwood for over 85 years. The troop meets every Monday at 7 p.m. in their Scout Hut located behind Fire Station 2 off Indian Creek Road. The troop meets throughout the year, participating in character-building exercises including camping, outdoor cooking, community engagement, and leadership development. Brownwood firefighter James LeMond is the current Scoutmaster for Troop 14.

The troop welcomes potential scouts to visit and learn more. For more information, contact Lauren Pulley, Troop Committee Chair: 325-203-1631. If you are looking for a troop to join in your area you can contact the Texas Trails Council in Abilene at: 325-677-2688.
The Boy Scout Program is a year-round program, it allows and encourages youth to participate in other activities. There are more than 130 merit badges Boy Scouts can earn, it is said that most scouts find their careers and lifelong hobbies from experiences while earning their merit badges. The Boy Scout program works to instill morals, develop character and skills that young men will use for the rest of their lives.
