City of Brownwood Allows Local Non-Profits Chance to Collect Surplus Furniture and Office Equipment at No Cost

Press Release – The Timmons warehouse, located at the corner of East Baker and South Greenleaf, will be open on December 7th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for local non-profits, churches, schools, and government agencies to obtain surplus items at no cost. The surplus items are primarily office equipment, office furniture, and small miscellaneous pieces. City Council declared the items as surplus property available for donation on November 8, 2016. The items will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

Parking is available at the Senior Citizens Center, with additional parking behind the Senior Citizens Center in grass RV spaces. Please do not park along the street. Vehicles may be moved to the loading dock for loading of items. Please come prepared to load and transport items from 9 am to 4 pm, as no items will be held for later pickup.

All local non-profits, churches, schools, and government agencies are able to collect the free surplus items. Individuals collecting items will need to show organization identification or provide a letter proving non-profit status from the entity they are representing before items are able to be taken.

For additional information contact David Withers, Director of Parks and Recreation at [email protected] or 325-646-0146.
