Jerry Bearss

bearss-001Graveside funeral services for Jerry Bearss, age 67, of Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 2, 2016 in the Greenleaf Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00. Heartland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bearss died Monday, November 28, 2016 at the V.A. Medical Center in Temple.

Jerry Bearss was born in Auburn, Indiana on March 16, 1949 to Donald and Bessie Bearss.  Jerry served in the U. S. Army and fought in the Vietnam War.  Jerry enjoyed fishing and joking around with his family.  He married Chris Bearss on February 2, 2002 in Goldthwaite.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Chris Bearss of Brownwood, two sisters, Debbie Thacker of Coleman and Sharon Atkinson of Corning, California; a brother, Ronnie Bearss and wife Shirley of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sons, ‘Lil Jerry of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Steve Hobbs and wife Janie, Lee Sproles and wife Amber, Terry Sproles, Jason Sproles and wife Ruby, Jeff Sproles and wife Stephanie, and a daughter, Peggy Sue of Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Other survivors include nephews and nieces, Mike Miller, Jeff and Donna Thacker, Bill and Sara Thacker, and Darrell Thacker, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and Lil one the dog.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and a sister Linda.
