Wanda Pinkston Followwell

followwell-picFuneral services for Wanda Faye Pinkston Followwell, age 87, of Brownwood will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Brownwood Evangelism Center.  Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

Mrs. Followwell passed from this life on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 in Brownwood.

Wanda was born on June 21, 1929 in Cross Plains to Willie Charles and Minnie Isola (Carey) Pinkston.  She graduated from Brownwood High School.  Wanda married O.D. Followwell on December 24, 1947 in Brownwood.  She worked as the administrator for the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department before her retirement.  Wanda was a longtime member of Brownwood Evangelism Center.  She was happiest when she was around her family, grandkids, and church family.

Wanda is survived by her husband of 68 years, O.D. Followwell of Brownwood; two daughters, Juanita Graham of Abilene and Sherita Chism and husband Loyd of Lampasas and a son Robert Followwell and wife Mandy of Brownwood; three sisters, Ruth Pinkston Followwell, Ruby Pinkston Treadaway McBride and Betty Pinkston Hall and a brother, W.C. Pinkston, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Kim Welch and husband Rahn, Kristi Graham, James Chism and wife Kerri, Sarah Belanger, Matt Followwell and wife Aimee, Marc Followwell and wife Chelsea, and Nick Followwell and wife Lacie; fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a sister-in-law Patsy Followwell and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Charles Pinkston, Sr. and Minnie Isola Carey Pinkston.
