City of Brownwood announces Thanksgiving holiday closings

Release to Brownwood News – In observance of Thanksgiving, City Hall and most City facilities will close and there will be no city services running on Thursday and Friday November 24-25. 

City departments operating as usual are Police and Fire Departments, along with other critical city services. The following services and facilities will operate on a holiday schedule: 

• Solid Waste Collections:  Sanitation trucks will not run Thursday or Friday Nov. 24-25. Residents with curbside garbage collection please have your blue or green cart placed curbside by 7 a.m. on your designated days listed: 
♦ Thursday’s collections take place on Wednesday Nov. 23
♦ Friday’s collections take place on Saturday Nov. 26

Call the sanitation department at 325-643-4200 with any questions.

• Utilities: Emergency service is available for water and sewer needs 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  After hours emergency water line breaks and wastewater backup calls can be made to Police Dispatch at 325-646-6000. 
• Landfill and Recycling Center will close Thursday and Friday Nov. 26-27 and will resume regular operational hours Saturday November 26. Questions regarding the Landfill can be addressed by calling 325-646-6574 and the Recycling Center by calling 325-641-8832. 

Regular operational hours for all facilities will resume on Monday November 28. For more information, visit  www.brownwoodtexas.gov.
