3-gold-star-flagGold Star Families throughout the area are invited to be a part of the opening ceremony for the “Remembering Our Fallen” photo exhibit that will be on display November 17-20th in Brownwood.

The exhibit will commemorate and honor those who have given their lives in the line of duty during The War on Terror.   “Remembering Our Fallen” is an emotional reminder of the ultimate sacrifice made by almost 600 Texans killed in The War on Terror while serving in Afghanistan or Iraq.

The families of these fallen military men and women will be recognized and honored during the opening ceremony on November 17th at 10 AM at the Depot Civic & Cultural Center.   “Remembering Our Fallen” will then be on public display at the Depot from November 17-20.  The exhibit will be open 11 AM-7 PM on November 17 & 18, 10 AM – 5 PM on November 19 and 1 PM – 6 PM on November 20.  There is no charge to view the display and it is open to the public.

Gold Star Families are asked to call the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce at 325-646-9535 to register for the event.

The exhibit, created by Bill and Evonne Williams of Patriotic Productions in Omaha, is financially sponsored by Bellevue University, Bellevue, Nebraska.  The display is on loan to the Texas Funeral Directors Association, and they will be responsible for touring the exhibit throughout Texas.

Bellevue University is a private, non-profit University in Bellevue, Nebraska.  Founded in 1966, with the charter of serving military heroes, it has been a military-friendly school for 45 years.  Bellevue University was an early adopter of distance learning and is now a leader in online education with students in the 50 US states and 55 foreign countries, including Afghanistan and Iraq.  More information can be found at www. bellevue.edu.
