The American Southwest Conference announced the 2016 ASC women’s soccer awards today and Howard Payne University landed four on the list after a vote of the league’s head coaches.

Nicole Goodwin was named Third Team All-Conference at goalkeeper while Kaitlyn Harrison, Jessica Swonger and Darbi Frazier were selected as honorable mention all-conference.

Goodwin, a junior from Austin, Texas, earned her first all-conference award after playing a crucial part of the Howard Payne defense as the starting goal keeper. She logged 1,347 minutes while playing in each of Howard Payne’s 17 games on the season. She recorded 128 saves (0.800 save percentage) including a career high 15 in a 0-0 draw vs. East Texas Baptist.

Sophomore defender Kaitlyn Harrison started in all 17 games for the Yellow Jackets, collecting 1427 minutes, good for second on the team. Recorded her first career goal during a 3-1 victory over Louisiana College and ended the season with 10 shots.

Jessica Swonger, a freshmen from Mountain Home, Arkansas, received her first ASC honors after playing in all 17 of Howard Payne’s. Logging 1,351 minutes, Swonger had the game winning assist during a 1-0 victory over the University of the Ozarks.

Darbi Frazier was a leader on and off the field for the Lady Jackets this season. A senior, Frazier recorded three game-winning goals for Howard Payne while starting in all 17 games. She ended the season with a 14 shots and seven shots on goal (.500 shot on goal percentage) while registering 1,173 minutes of playing time.

The Lady Jackets finished the 2016 season at 5-11-1 overall and 3-7-1 in ASC play. They finished 10th in the conference standings with 10 points.
