Jimmy Dale McCoy

Jimmy Dale McCoy, 71, of Coleman, died Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at his residence.  A memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Community Baptist Church, 216 Lackland, Coleman, with Bro. Don Harmes officiating, assisted by Rev. Marvin Hale.  His body was cremated.  Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.

Jimmy Dale McCoy was born December 5, 1941 in Stephenville to Edgar Lynn McCoy and Loda Lee Shelton McCoy.  He grew up and attended school in Fort Worth.  At the age of 17, Jim enlisted with the United States Navy.  He lived in Fort Worth and Goldthwaite, moving to Coleman in 1995.  He went to school to become an EMT.  He loved it so much, he continued his studies in EMT training and later started teaching EMT Classes.  He worked for Coleman County Medical Center Ambulance Service, retiring as Senior Medic.  After enjoying is retirement days, Jim went back to work, CCMC in the maintenance department for several years.  Jim was a member of the Gold Prospectors Association of America.  He never struck it rich, but always had good time trying.

Survivors include four children, Donna Toby and husband, Barry, of Conroe, Terri Lynne Williams of Conroe, David McCoy of Conroe, Christina McCoy of Corpus Christi; one sister, Donna Pampallona and husband, Salvo, of Weatherford; one brother, Randy McCoy and wife, Della, of Goldthwaite and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Loda McCoy.

In memory of Jim, memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
