Brownwood Fire Department – Fire & Rescue Reports 9/27

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the period of September 19-25, 2016 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 41 medical emergencies, 8 fire call, one hazardous materials call, and 3 motor vehicle accidents.  Reports of interest that the Brownwood Fire Department responded to include:

Tuesday, September 20

*1:25 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 300 block of Market Place Blvd.  Firefighters arrived to find a false alarm at the apartment complex.

*7:04 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident at Austin and Coggin Avenues.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find all occupants out of the vehicles.

*10:52 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call at 300 block of Market Place Blvd.  Firefighters arrived and found this to be a false alarm at the complex.

Wednesday, September 21

*2:04 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 2600 block of Belle Plain regarding a vehicle fire.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find a vehicle fully engulfed.  Firefighters pulled the fire truck’s front bumper line and extinguished the fire.  The Brownwood Fire Marshal was contacted to investigate the fire.

Thursday, September 22

*8:26 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident at Crockett & Southpark Drive.

*11:17 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a hazardous materials call in the 3500 block of Durham Avenue where firefighters assisted Davis Morris Funeral Home.

*7:51 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched on a hazardous materials call in the 2600 block of Belmeade Street.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a gas meter in the alleyway was leaking.  The meter was shut off.

Friday, September 23

*2:39 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 1000 block of Center Avenue regarding an alarm activation.  Firefighters arrived on scene and found nothing showing.  The building was checked and cleared.

*3:56 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a single vehicle accident in the 600 block of Carnegie Street involving a vehicle which had struck a pedestrian.  Fire crews arrived on scene with the Brownwood Police Department and EMS. Firefighters assisted EMS with loading the patient for transport to the hospital.

Saturday, September 24

*9:02 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 100 block of Market Place Blvd. regarding a fire alarm activation. Firefighters investigated the room and found a partially smoked cigarette and a lighter in a no-smoking room.

Sunday, September 25

*2:06 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 700 block of Oak Street where they responded to the report of a power line down.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find that a pole had broken at the ground level.  Power to two homes was off.  Oncor arrived on scene.

*4:41 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 400 block of N. Greenleaf regarding a power line being down.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a tree branch had fallen on the phone and TV cables.  The wires were removed from the driveway.
