Reminder: Weekend Full of Events at Pioneer Days in Early

EarlyPioneerDaysLogoEarly Pioneer Days is this weekend, September 16th and 17th, with a full roster of family fun, competitions, concerts and a firework show.  All the festivities take place at Early City Park.

A local favorite, Callahan Divide will open for Casey Donahew on Saturday, September 17th.  Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. with a local favorite Callahan Divide taking the stage at 8:30 p.m., and Texas music sensation Casey Donahew will take the stage at 10 p.m. The TexasBank fireworks show will conclude the two-day event.  Concert tickets will be available for $15 online at www.earlychamber.com.  Concert goers can bring chairs or blankets and bring their own cooler for $10 with no glass bottles.

This marks the 4th year for Early Pioneer Days.  This festival-style event has seen tremendous growth over the last three years and this year will be no different, according to organizers.

Additions such as State Farm Pioneer Man Contest, county fair theme contest: pie and hot dog eating contest as well as sack races, three legged races, wheel barrel races, horse shoes and washers.  The event kicks off on Friday, September 16th with the South Park Medical Plaza BBQ Cook-off.  The cook-off is a Lone Star Sanctioned event.

There is also a carnival which will be open from 6-11 p.m. Friday and 2-11:30 p.m. on Saturday.  Wristbands are $25 each night from 6-11:30 p.m.  Tickets are also available for $1 each.  Teen and adult rides are 4 tickets each and children’s  rides are 3 tickets each.
