Brownwood emergency responders were called to the scene of a two vehicle accident in the 1800 block of Avenue E Tuesday morning which injured three.

The accident occurred at approximately 10:20 a.m., when a Ford Explorer traveling southwest on Avenue E struck a Mercury Mariner which was traveling southeast on 6th Street, in a “T-bone” fashion.  According to police on scene, the male driver of the Ford and the two adult female occupants of the Mercury were transported from the scene by ambulance for evaluation and treatment of their injuries.  Their conditions were not available at the scene; however, all were reported to be alert and talking after the collision.  A toddler who was also a passenger of the Mariner appeared to be uninjured but was being taken to the hospital by privately owned vehicle as a precaution.

The Mercury, pictured above, received damage to the driver’s side door to where it was inoperable.  Firefighters were able to open the door and help EMS remove the driver from the vehicle and load her into an ambulance for transport.

The Ford, pictured below, sustained front end damage.

Brownwood Police Department, Brownwood Fire Department and Lifeguard EMS responded to the scene of the accident.
